Where Are They?
Current official missing-child posters—and the knowledge to respond safely when something does not look or feel right.
Do not overlook a direct request
If a child says, “I need help”—do not walk away.
Stay calm and remain nearby if it is safe. Ask, “Are you in immediate danger?” and “Would you like me to call 911?” Contact 911 for immediate danger, threats, violence or urgent medical need. Bring trained staff or security to the child; do not confront the person accompanying them.
Travel Watch
Notice behavior and control—not appearances.
A child may appear fearful, coached, unable to speak freely, uncertain of the destination, or controlled by someone holding their identification, phone, money or movement. One sign alone does not prove trafficking, abduction or abuse.
Airports
Contact airport police, TSA or airline personnel.
Train stations
Contact transit police, the conductor or station staff.
Bus terminals
Contact the driver, security or terminal staff.
Rest stops
Call 911 for immediate danger. Never follow a vehicle.
Public venues
Notify security or a staffed service desk.
Respond safely
Do not confront, follow, interrogate, photograph, record or post the child. Share only what you directly heard or observed, and follow the emergency dispatcher’s instructions.
